Welcome, Dr. Karandish

This guide takes you from your invitation email to a working account in about 20 minutes — setting up your provider view, adding yourself as your own first patient, and ordering your TruDiagnostic epigenetics kit so its three-week clock starts running while you explore everything else.

You'll have two separate sign-ins

Healthena keeps your clinical view and your own health data in two different accounts, so we've set them up on the two addresses you gave us: for your provider account, and for your personal patient account.

You'll create the provider account first, then use it to enroll yourself as a patient — which is also exactly how you'll bring in real patients later. If you'd rather use different addresses, just tell us before you start and we'll switch them over.

Accept your provider invitation Provider side

  1. Look in for an email titled "You're invited to join Healthena as a provider" and click Accept your invitation.
  2. You'll land on the Healthena provider sign-in page with your email already filled in and a small Invited tag next to it. Click Email me a code instead, then Send verification code.
  3. A 6-digit code arrives in that inbox — enter it on the Check your email screen and click Verify.
  4. You'll be asked to Create a password for next time — at least 12 characters with a letter and a number.
Sign in with the exact address the invitation went to. A different address won't be linked to your invitation. Invitation links expire after 7 days — if yours has lapsed, tell us and a fresh one arrives in minutes.

Accept the consent screen Provider side

You'll see "Before you continue." On the provider side there's a single box to check — our Terms of Service (including the Business Associate terms), the Privacy Policy, and your agreement to access patient information only for the care of patients under your care. Click Continue.

Fill in your provider profile Provider side

Next comes Set Up Your Account, a short tabbed form — Personal, Professional, Practice, and a few optional ones. Add your name, credentials, and practice details, then click Complete setup to land on your dashboard.

You can revisit and edit any of it later from Account in the sidebar.

Enroll yourself as your own first patient Provider side

Open Patients in the sidebar and click Enroll Patient. It asks for three things — first name, last name, and email. Use your personal address, , and click Enroll Patient.

An invitation email goes to that inbox. Because you enrolled yourself, you become your own assigned provider — so once your data is in, you'll see it from both sides: as your own patient, and as the physician reviewing it.

This is the same button you'll use for real patients. Name and email are all it needs, and each person gets their own invitation.

Sign in to your patient account Patient side

  1. Open a different browser window — or a private/incognito one — so both accounts can stay signed in side by side without logging each other out.
  2. Follow the link in the invitation sent to , or go to healthena.ai/beta → Get started → I am a patient and sign in with that address. The code goes to that inbox.
  3. Accept the patient consent screen. Here there are two required boxes — the first covers our Terms, Privacy Policy and HIPAA notice; the second lets Healthena's AI features read your health data, which is what makes the whole assistant work. A third, optional box covers de-identified research use, and you can change it anytime in Settings → Privacy.
  4. Fill in your profile — name, date of birth, biological sex, height, weight. Healthena uses these to interpret labs and wearable data, so use your real details.

Order your TruDiagnostic kit Patient side

Do this early — it's the only step with a clock on it. Results take about three weeks, so starting now means they're waiting for you by the time you've finished exploring everything else.

Open Epigenetics in the sidebar. The Order an Epigenetics Kit form is right on the page.

  1. Pick your test. Three cards, with current pricing shown on each: TruAge (biological age, pace of aging, organ-system ages), TruHealth (a broad biomarker panel from the same sample), or the combined kit with both. If you'd like a recommendation — TruAge is the one most people start with, since biological age and pace of aging are the headline numbers you'll want a baseline for.
  2. Demographics. Legal name, date of birth, biological sex. These travel to the lab with your sample, so make sure they're exact.
  3. Shipping address. Where the saliva collection kit should be mailed — a street address, US only, no PO boxes. If USPS suggests a corrected version, pick whichever is right.
  4. Click the Order … button at the bottom. It takes you to a secure Stripe checkout; pay by card and you'll land back on the Epigenetics page with a confirmation and a progress tracker.
Prefer to start somewhere else? The Microbiome page orders a Jona gut microbiome kit the same way — shipping address, card, done. There's no wrong order to do these in, and nothing stops you running both.

Register the kit the day it arrives Patient side

When the kit shows up, go back to the Epigenetics page — a Register your sample panel is now on your kit card. Enter the kit barcode (printed on the box and on the collection tube) and click Register kit.

Collect and register on the same day. Registration is what tells the lab your collection date, so do all three together: collect the saliva sample, register on the page, and drop the envelope in the mail.

Results appear on that same Epigenetics page about three weeks later — and Healthena can walk you through them in plain language.

Your Apple Watch: what to expect Patient side

Apple is the one device that can't connect through the website. Apple Watch data reaches Healthena through Apple Health on your iPhone, which means it needs the Healthena iPhone app — the Wearables page will show an Apple Watch tile, but there's nothing there for you to connect yet.

The iPhone app is going through Apple's review process now. We'll email you the moment it's available, walk you through installing it, and your watch history will start flowing in — Healthena pulls up to a year of it, gradually, over the first couple of hours.

Nothing else is waiting on the app. Labs, epigenetics, your kit order, and the full Healthena assistant all work on the website today. If you ever add a second device — Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Fitbit, Dexcom, Polar or Withings — those connect straight from the Wearables page with Connect a Wearable.

Add whatever you've already had done Patient side

Everything below is optional — but the more you add, the more Healthena has to reason about, and each one takes under a minute.

  • Blood work — Labs → Choose PDFs. Any lab's report works (Quest, LabCorp, hospital, specialty panels), up to 20 MB each, several at once. Healthena reads each one and flags what's in and out of range; values from multiple reports build trend lines over time.
  • Past TruDiagnostic reports — Epigenetics → Upload your TruDiagnostic reports (PDF). Worth doing before your new kit comes back, so the new result has something to trend against.
  • DNA raw data — Genomics → pick your testing company (23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, Dante Labs, FamilyTreeDNA, a clinical lab, or Other). Each shows step-by-step instructions for finding the download, since it's usually buried in account settings. Drop the file in as-is — .txt, .csv, .vcf or the .zip straight from the download.
  • A past Jona report — Microbiome takes the PDF directly.
For genomics, it's the raw data file — not the PDF summary your testing company shows you online. The on-screen instructions point to the right download.

Talk to Healthena Patient side

Click the Healthena chat bubble in the corner and ask about your own data in plain language. She can see everything you've uploaded and connected, and she'll cite the research behind her answers.

  • "What stands out in my latest labs?"
  • "What should I expect my epigenetics results to tell me?"
  • "Given what you know about me, where would you focus first?"

See yourself the way you'll see your patients Provider side

Back in your provider window, open Patients. Under My Patients you'll find yourself — click the row to open the full patient profile and browse the labs, reports, and data you just added, laid out the way every patient's will be.

With a patient profile open, the Healthena bubble becomes clinical decision support scoped to that patient. Try "What needs attention for this patient?" Without a patient open, she's general clinical support — guidelines, research with citations, longevity medicine:

  • "What does the current evidence say about ApoB targets for primary prevention?"
  • "Summarize the latest on GLP-1s and healthspan."

When you're ready for real patients, it's the same Enroll Patient button — name and email, and they get their own invitation.
