Healthena Beta · Getting Started

Welcome, Dr. Friedman

Your accounts are already set up — nothing to create. This guide walks you through signing in, ordering your Jona gut microbiome kit, adding your own health data as a patient, and seeing it the way you'll see your patients' data as a provider. About 15 minutes end to end.

1

Sign in to your personal (patient) account Patient side

  1. Go to healthena.ai/beta and click Get startedI am a patient.
  2. Enter . If it asks for a password you don't remember, choose the verification code option instead.
  3. A 6-digit code arrives at that inbox — enter it on the Check your email screen. You may be asked to set a password for next time.
2

Accept the consent screen Patient side

On first sign-in you'll see "Before you continue." Check the required box (Terms, Privacy Policy, HIPAA Notice). The second checkbox — de-identified research use — is optional and can be changed anytime in Settings → Privacy. Click Continue.

3

Fix your profile details Patient side

Important: your account was created with a placeholder birthdate (Jan 1, 1960). Healthena uses age to interpret labs and wearable data, so please correct it.

Open Settings in the sidebar and click the profile tab (or go directly to healthena.ai/beta/patient/settings#profile). Your details are shown prefilled — correct the date of birth and add your height and weight, then click Save changes. You can come back and update these anytime.

4

Order your Jona gut microbiome kit Patient side

  1. Open Microbiome in the sidebar (or go directly to healthena.ai/beta/patient/microbiome) and click Order kit.
  2. Enter the shipping address where you'd like the kit delivered — your name is prefilled — and click Order kit.
  3. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout to pay by card, then returned to the Microbiome page, where your order status is shown.

The kit ships to your address. When it arrives, follow the instructions included in the box to collect your sample and send it back. Once the lab completes your analysis, your full gut microbiome report appears on this same Microbiome page — nothing to upload.

Already tested with Jona before? The Microbiome page also lets you upload a past Jona report PDF, so earlier results can sit alongside the new kit's.
5

Connect your wearable Patient side

Open Wearables in the sidebar and click Connect a Wearable. Pick your device — Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Fitbit, Dexcom, Polar, or Withings — and sign in with that device account when prompted.

Heads up: Apple Watch / Apple Health connects through the Healthena mobile app, not the website — if that's your device, we'll sort it out together.

Once connected, Healthena imports up to a year of history gradually over the next couple of hours. Recent days show up first; trends and averages fill in as the import completes.

6

Upload your lab reports Patient side

Open Labs in the sidebar. At the top, under Upload lab reports, click Choose PDFs. Any lab's PDF works (Quest, LabCorp, hospital reports…), up to 20 MB each, and you can select several at once.

Healthena reads each report automatically — your biomarkers appear with in-range / out-of-range flags, and values from multiple reports build trend lines over time.

7

Upload past test reports, if you have them Patient side

If you've done TruDiagnostic epigenetic testing before (TruAge or TruHealth), open Epigenetics in the sidebar and use Upload your TruDiagnostic reports (PDF)Choose PDFs. Your biological age and pace-of-aging results appear on the same page, and multiple reports build a trend over time.

Reports from any other testing company — bloodwork, hormone panels, specialty tests, from any lab or clinic — go through the Labs uploader from step 6, which reads any lab's PDF. The Epigenetics uploader is specific to TruDiagnostic's report format.

8

Upload your DNA raw data, if you've tested Patient side

If you've done consumer or clinical DNA testing, open Genomics in the sidebar and pick your testing company — 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, Dante Labs, FamilyTreeDNA, a clinical genotyping lab, or "Other Provider". Each one shows step-by-step instructions for downloading your raw data file from that company's site, since it's usually buried in account settings.

Drop the file in as-is — .txt, .csv, .vcf, or the .zip straight from the download, no unzipping needed. Analysis takes a few minutes, then the Genomics page shows your trait analysis and longevity assessment.

Note: this is the raw DNA data file, not the PDF summary report your testing company shows you online. The instructions on the page point you to the right download.
9

Talk to Healthena Patient side

Click the Healthena chat bubble and ask about your own data in plain language. She sees everything you just uploaded and connected.

  • "Walk me through everything my wearable is tracking."
  • "What stands out in my latest labs?"
  • "How has my sleep been this week?"
10

Now switch hats: sign in as a provider Provider side

  1. Open a different browser window (or a private/incognito window) so both accounts can stay signed in side by side.
  2. Go to healthena.ai/betaGet startedI am a provider.
  3. Sign in as — the code goes to that inbox. Accept the provider consent screen.
11

See yourself the way you'll see your patients Provider side

Open Patients in the sidebar. Under My Patients, you'll find Shelly Friedman — click the row to open the patient profile and browse the labs, wearable data, and reports you just added.

With a patient profile open, the Healthena bubble becomes clinical decision support scoped to that patient — try "What needs attention for this patient?"

When you're ready to bring in real patients, the Enroll Patient button on the same page sends them an email invite — name and email are all it needs.
